Basic HTML Formatting Tags

The HTML formatting tags are used for formatting text styles. With HTML formatting tags we can format the appearance of the text on your web page. There are lots of HTML format tags are available in html, although some of them are as follows :

Heading <h> : Heading tag is used to give the heading of a paragraph or any thing like that. There are 6 levels of headings available, from h1 for the largest and most important heading, h6 for the smallest heading.
<h1> This is Heading 1  </h1>
<h2> This is Heading 2  </h2>
<h3> This is Heading 3  </h3>
<h4> This is Heading 4  </h4>
<h5> This is Heading 4  </h5>
<h6> This is Heading 6  </h6>

Paragraph <p> : With <p> tag, we can defines a paragraph. Foe example:
<p> This is paragraph </p>
Output :
 This is paragraph 

 Bold <b> : Bold tag is used to display the text in bold style. For example :
<b> This is bold text </b>
Output :
 This is bold text 

Italic<i> : Italic tag is used to display the text in italic style. For example :
<i> This is Italic text </i>
Output :
 This is Italic text 

Underline <u> :  The underline tag is used to display the text with underline. For example :
<u> This Text is underlined <u>
Output :
 This Text is underlined

 Strike <strike> : The underline tag will put a line through the center of the text. For example :
<strike> This is how it looks like </strike>
Output:
 This is how it looks like 

 S <s> : The <s> is similar to strike, see the below example :
<s> This is Striked text </s>
Output :
 This is Striked text 

Delete <del> : The delete is also similar to <s> and strike, for example :
<del> This is deleted text </del>
Output :
 This is deleted text 

Big Text <big> : Big text shows the text in big sizes, example :
<big> This is Test of Big </big>
Output :
 This is Test of Big 

Center <center> : Center tag is used to show the text in the middle of the page.
<center> This is centered text </center>
Output :
This is centered text

Emphasized text <em> : It is used to used to emphasize text, which usually appears in italic, example :
<em> This is emphasized text </em>
Output :
 This is emphasized text 

Strong <strong> : It usually show text in bold, for example :
<strong> This is strong text </strong>
Output :
 This is strong text 

Small <small> : display text in usually small size. Example :
<small> This is small size </small>
Output :
 This is small size 

Subscript <sub> : Subscript is character that is half the height of a standard character and printed lower than the rest of the text. With <sub> we can print subscript characters :
X<sub>2</sub>
Output :
 X2

Superscript <sup> : The size of superscript character is same as subscript character, except that it is printed on top than the rest of the text. With <sup> we can print superscript characters :
X<sup>2</sup>
Output :
 X2

Mark <mark> : The mark tag will mark the text, for example :
<mark> This is marked text. </mark>
Output :
 This is marked text. 

Pre-formatted text <pre> : Any text between the pre tags, including spaces, carriage returns and punctuation, will appear in the browser as it would in a text editor (normally browsers ignore multiple spaces). For example :
<pre> This is Preformatted text. </pre>
Output :
 This is Preformatted text. 

Font Size <font size="1..7"> :  With font size tag we can set the font size between 1 to 7, where 1 is smallest and 7 is largest. For example :
<font size="5"> This is Font size test </font>
Output :
 This is Font size test 

Line break <br /> : The line break tag is used to break single line. Example :
<p>Hi my name is John wick. <br /> And i work as a Freelance contractor.</p>
Output :
 Hi my name is John wick. 
 And i work as a Freelance contractor.
